L'or véritable ne craint pas le feu
Hot sealed gold leaves, glue, on wood. 2022
This work is born during the pandemic period from Covid19 and has been created for the first edition of the exhibition “Imboscata” in Empoli(FI) in 2022. The presence of scales on the wounds of wood, a symbol of armor and protection, and of gold, a body of light and inner perfection, evoke a feeling on the edge between knowledge and imagination. The work, given its characteristic shape and the contrast that the sheen of gold produces with wood, finally refers to the idea of fire, as told in an ancient Chinese proverb which confers the title to the work. "Real gold is not afraid of fire" expresses the maximum value of all living beings in the face of the difficulties that life imposes. It speaks of fragility that requires its opposite, strength ... the inner strength, deep and hidden, which overcomes the difficulties and reveals the virtues of the troubled living beings.
